Do You Think I Can Win a Bike?

So - I don't think I have ever won anything (or at least anything exciting). I'm going to try this one out, if for nothing else other than to help promote these awesome bikes.

Click on the following links if you want to help me win. OR, if you are like me and don't like to bother with these things, don't click on the links.

Getting Out the Tea

This is what I'm thinking about today . . . I read it on Scott's, my yoga mentor's, blog. I think I'll take his advice and try to get some tea out and entertain all of my guests. Hopefully they won't stay too long!

The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

They're Here!

As many of you know, I like to treat my feet well. Lately (I'm sure it's due to the long cold winter) my feet have been feeling a little blue. Well, there's nothing better than some good red love for treating blue feet. For a couple of months I've had my eye on a little something red, and today they showed up on my doorstep!!!

An Important Celebration

What a wonderful time of year. The celebration of the resurrection is a reminder to me of the great love Christ has for each of us, and of the sacrifice He made for all of us. As a mom, I got caught up in the Easter egg dying, fun Easter dresses and yummy Easter dinner. I am grateful for a husband who took a minute to tell Katherine what Easter is really about.

All that being said . . . here are some pictures of our day:

Trip to Taliesin

While Mike was away in Arizona playing a little golf with some friends and family, the girls took a day trip to Taliesin. Taliesin was Frank Lloyd Wright's primary home. I admit that I'm not particularly fond of Wright's style, but I now have a greater appreciation of his focus on creating architecture that blends into nature. Katherine and Ellie loved being outside, and Chelsea and I - well I think we enjoyed the scenery more than focusing on all of the history.

Welcome Spring!

Katherine, Ellie, Marianne, and Chelsea (Mike's sister) went on our first hike of the season . . . long overdue. The weather was beautiful so we ventured to the Pheasant Branch Conservancy. Katherine was nervous crossing the stream on the rocks, but it was a fun time for all! We filled our tummies with pitas w/hummus, grapes, carrots, and of course TRAIL MIX!!!

So Much

I feel like all of a sudden life is whirling around me like a tornado. Laundry, new back door, dishes, grocery shopping, designing a new bathroom (finding toilet, sink, vanity mirror, lighting, fan, bathtub, tile, grout, paint color, misc. hardware, etc.), scheduling summer vacations, scheduling our bathroom "contractor", Easter dresses, spring cleaning, bathing kids, getting kids to bed, changing diapers, scrubbing out stains, cleaning, picking up, signing up for swimming lessons (which may/may not be a good idea because of being out of town and missing lessons), cooking, trimming bushes and clearing out the gardens, rain gutters, and MUCH MORE!!!

I want to know, how in the world do YOU juggle everything?? Really, I want suggestions down there from everyone who reads this!!

Fondue Night

FONDUE ROCKS!! ( . . . that's for you Jen). A big thank you to our friends, the Ridays, for a wonderful evening. The food was yummy (that's an understatement), and it was fun to sit and talk. Oh - and a promise to myself to not let too much time pass before I have fondue again. It's so yummy.
